Privacy Policy
What we collect, why we collect it, who else sees it, and how to make us delete it. Written to be read rather than to be survived.

Who we are
Marketivv is an SEO agency operating this website at marketivv.com. In data protection terms we are the controller of the information described here. You can reach us at hello@marketivv.com, on +91-810-021-1553, or at 5670 Wilshire Blvd, Suite 2000, Los Angeles, CA 90036.
This policy covers marketivv.com and the tools on it. It does not cover other companies' websites we link to, which have their own policies.
Information you give us
We only ask for information when you choose to send it. That means:
- The contact form and the enquiry popup. Your name, email, phone, website and message. These go straight to our CRM, HubSpot.
- The "Get Started" quote flow. Your name, email, WhatsApp number, website, which services interest you, your budget range and anything you write in the message box. These land in a Google Sheet our team works from.
- A free SEO checker account. Only your email address, plus the audits you explicitly chose to save. Nothing else — see below.
- Anything you send us directly by email, phone or WhatsApp.
We do not ask for and do not want payment card details, government ID numbers, or any of the special categories of data such as health or political views. Please do not send them.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, we measure how this one is used. Our analytics tools record the pages you visit, how you got here, your rough location from your IP address, and your device and browser. They identify your browser with a randomly generated ID, not with your name.
One of these deserves calling out rather than burying: Microsoft Clarity records sessions. It captures how a visitor moves, clicks and scrolls through pages so we can see where a layout confuses people. It is a recording of behaviour on our pages, not of your screen, your other tabs, or anything you type into password fields.
Our host also keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting.
The free SEO checker
Our free on-page SEO checker crawls a website you give it and reports what it finds. It works differently from the rest of this site, so here is exactly what happens.
If you don't sign in, we keep nothing
The crawl runs on our server, and the results are deleted the moment the report reaches your browser. From that point the only copy is the page in front of you, and the CSV download is built in your browser from that page rather than fetched from us. Close the tab, reload, or leave part-way through and it is gone. That is why running the audit again is the only way to get it back.
Alongside that:
-
Our server requests pages from the website address you enter, identifying itself as
MarketivvAuditBotand obeying that site's robots.txt. Only publicly reachable addresses can be audited. - We count how many audits come from an IP address in the last hour, so the tool cannot be used to hammer someone else's website. That count is kept for an hour and nothing else about the request is stored with it.
- An audit abandoned part-way through is deleted when you leave the page, and swept within thirty minutes regardless.
If you do create an account, we store your email address and the reports you chose to save, in our own database on our own hosting. Signing in works by emailed link, so we never create, store, or ask you for a password. Saved audits are deleted automatically 15 days after you save them, because a crawl older than that describes a website that has since moved on. You can also delete your account, your email address and every saved audit from the account panel on the tool page, in one click, at any time. That deletion is immediate and total.
The chat assistant
The chat bubble on this site runs entirely inside your browser. It searches a file of pre-written answers about our services that is downloaded with the page. What you type into it is never sent to us or to anyone else, and we cannot read it.
How we use this information
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote.
- To provide the SEO checker and, if you asked us to, keep your saved audits.
- To understand which pages work and which don't, and improve them.
- To keep the site secure and stop the audit tool being abused.
- To send you something you asked us to send you.
Where the law requires a lawful basis, ours is your consent when you submit a form or create an account, and our legitimate interest in running and improving a working website for everything else.
We do not sell your personal information, and we never have. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
Who else sees it
We use the services below to run this site. Each one only receives what it needs, and each has its own privacy policy governing what it does with it.
| Service | What it does | What reaches it |
|---|---|---|
| HubSpot | CRM | Name, email, phone, website and message from the contact form and the site-wide enquiry popup. |
| Google (Apps Script and Sheets) | Quote requests | Name, email, WhatsApp number, website, services of interest, budget range and message from the "Get Started" quote flow. |
| Google Analytics 4 and Tag Manager | Analytics | Pages viewed, referrer, approximate location, device and browser, and a randomly generated visitor ID. |
| Microsoft Clarity | Session replay and heatmaps | A recording of how you moved, clicked and scrolled through pages, plus the same device and page details. |
| PostHog | Product analytics | Page views and interaction events, tied to a randomly generated visitor ID. |
| Hostinger | Web hosting | Standard server logs, and the database behind free SEO checker accounts. |
We may also disclose information if the law genuinely requires it, or to protect our rights or someone's safety. If our business is ever sold, information may transfer with it; you would be told before that changed anything about how it is handled.
Cookies
Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. Ours are used for analytics and, if you create one, to keep you signed in to an SEO checker account.
| Cookie | Set by | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics | Tells repeat visits apart using a random ID. | Up to 2 years |
_clck, _clsk | Microsoft Clarity | Links session recordings from the same browser together. | Up to 1 year |
ph_* | PostHog | Identifies a browser across page views for product analytics. | Up to 1 year |
mv_audit_session | Marketivv | Keeps you signed in to a free SEO checker account. Only set if you create one. | 30 days |
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, though a signed-in account will not stay signed in. You can also opt out of specific tools directly: Google Analytics opt-out and Microsoft Clarity . Most browsers also offer a Global Privacy Control setting, which we honour as an opt-out request.
How long we keep things
- Anonymous SEO audits: deleted the moment the report reaches your browser.
- Abandoned audits: deleted when you leave the page, and within 30 minutes regardless.
- Sign-in links: 15 minutes, and they stop working after one use.
- Saved audits: 15 days from when you save them, then deleted automatically. Run a fresh audit for the current picture.
- Account email address: until you delete your account.
- Enquiries and quote requests: for as long as we are talking, and up to three years afterwards so we remember the context if you come back.
- Analytics: according to each provider's own retention settings, typically 14 months or less.
Your rights
Wherever you live, we will honour these. If you are in California, the UK, or the EU, some of them are also legal rights under the CCPA/CPRA or the UK and EU GDPR.
- Get a copy. Ask us what we hold about you and we will send it.
- Correct it. Tell us what is wrong and we will fix it.
- Delete it. Ask and we will erase it, except where we are legally required to keep a record.
- Opt out of analytics. Block cookies in your browser, or use the specific opt-outs linked below.
- Stop hearing from us. Reply to any email asking us to stop, and we will.
- Complain. If you are in the UK or EU you can complain to your data protection authority.
Email hello@marketivv.com and we will respond within 30 days. We will not charge you, and we will not treat you differently for asking.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Account sign-in uses emailed links rather than passwords, so there is no password of yours for us to lose. The sign-in links and session identifiers we store are hashed, meaning a copy of our database could not be used to sign in as you. Credentials for the services above are held outside our code repository.
No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach ever affects your information, we will tell you and the relevant authority as quickly as the law requires.
Where your information goes
We operate from the United States and work with clients and colleagues internationally. The services listed above are mostly US-based, so information may be processed in the United States and other countries whose privacy laws differ from your own. Where required, transfers rely on the standard contractual clauses those providers have in place.
Children
This is a service for businesses. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us something, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
When we change how we handle information, we update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant we will say so prominently rather than quietly editing a paragraph.
